They actually consist of hundreds of islands and islets in the sheltered waters between Vancouver on the mainland and Victoria on Vancouver Island. The islands are known for their quiet rural charm, artists, farms, wineries and great natural beauty. Aside from the more populous Salt Spring and Pender Islands, there are only three of the islands that have scheduled vehicle ferry service to both cities: Mayne , Galiano and Saturna.
