Shoal Bay Lodge & Marina

A small horseshoe shaped bay with an incredible view of the mainland mountains, Shoal Bay was once the largest town on the West Coast. Gold left, cars came, and the once thriving town withered away all the way down to just us two. The historic, century old Shoal Bay Dock is managed by wharfinger Mark MacDonald. There are no reservations and dock space is on a first come basis. When docking at Shoal Bay please place your boat so to leave as much room as possible for future boats. Give a helping hand to your fellow boaters, make friends. Rafting to other boats is mandatory when necessary. There is a pay box on the dock where you can pay your moorage by cash, cheque or e-transfer. Wi-fi is provided by The Cottages at Shoal Bay.  Moored boaters may access the grounds and are invited to join in at Happy Hour, purchase fresh veggies and handmade pottery. There is also an indoor and outdoor shower. Have a look at what it takes to live off the grid.  In order to maintain our peaceful atmosphere for our guests and reduce environmental impact on the land, there is absolutely no land access for anchored boaters, Guests only. Beach access only.
